Why ears get blocked
It's not the wax. It's the cotton bud.
Your ears move old wax out on their own. A cotton bud fills most of the ear canal, so it works like a plunger: a little comes out on the tip, the rest gets packed further in. That's how ears end up feeling blocked.
Cotton buds
- Packs wax further in, like a plunger
- Strips the protective wax, so skin dries out and itches
- Can leave cotton fibres behind
- Straight in the bin after one use
MyClearLug
- Never pushes wax in
- Picks up loose flakes, fluff and stray hairs
- Leaves the wax inside to do its job
- Rinse under the tap and reuse
Watch it work
One gentle touch. See what it picks up.
Rest the soft tip at the entrance of your ear, turn it once and lift it out. Loose flakes and fluff come away on the tip, and nothing gets pushed in. Rinse it, let it dry, and it's ready for next time.
- Stays at the entrance, never goes deep
- Picks up dry flakes, fluff and stray hairs
- Rinse, let it dry, use it again
Why it's different
Clean what's loose. Keep what protects.
Everything a cotton bud does badly, done differently.
Never pushes wax in
It only touches the entrance of your ear and lifts away, so nothing gets packed deeper. That packing is how cotton buds leave ears feeling blocked.
Leaves your ear's protection alone
The soft wax inside keeps your ear moisturised and protected. Over-cleaning strips it away and leaves the skin dry and itchy.
Picks up the loose stuff
A smooth, tacky tip lifts dry flakes, fluff and stray hairs from the entrance. No loose cotton fibres left behind.
Rinse, dry, reuse
Warm water washes it clean. Once it's dry, the tip is ready again. One box, no more bin full of cotton buds.
How to use
Four steps. About ten seconds.
Use it on a dry ear, at the entrance only. It doesn't need to go any deeper.
- Step 1
Touch
Rest the soft tip at the entrance of your ear canal, on a dry ear. No need to go any deeper.
- Step 2
Turn
Turn it slowly once, with no pressure. The tip picks up what's loose.
- Step 3
Lift
Lift it straight out and take a look at the tip.
- Step 4
Rinse
Rinse under warm water, let it air-dry and put it back in the box for next time.
Use it right
Do's & don'ts
A light touch is the whole point.
Do
- Use it on a dry ear, at the entrance only
- Turn it once, gently, with no pressure
- Rinse and air-dry the tip after every use
- Leave the soft wax deeper inside alone, it protects your ear
Don't
- Push it deep into the ear canal
- Use it to try to clear a blocked ear
- Use it with ear pain, an infection, a perforated eardrum or grommets
- Share your stick, or let children use it without an adult

FAQ
Good questions, straight answers
Why doesn't it remove all my earwax?
Because it isn't meant to. The soft, moist wax inside your ear protects it and moves out on its own. MyClearLug is for what's loose and dry at the entrance: flakes, fluff and stray hairs. Leaving the rest in place is part of keeping your ears healthy.
Will it unblock my ear?
No, and nothing you put in your ear should try to. If your ear already feels blocked, your hearing drops suddenly, or you have pain, ringing or discharge, please see a pharmacist or GP. MyClearLug is for everyday cleaning, without pushing wax in the way cotton buds do.
Will the tip leave anything in my ear?
The tip is a smooth, solid piece, not glue or cotton, so there are no fibres to come loose. It's only tacky enough to pick up what's loose. If you ever feel discomfort, stop using it.
How do I keep it clean if I reuse it?
Rinse the tip under warm running water after every use, with a drop of mild soap if you like, then let it air-dry before putting it back in the box. Once it's dry, it's ready again. Use your own stick and don't share it.
How long does one stick last?
It depends on how often you use it. Swap to a fresh one when the tip no longer picks anything up after drying, or looks worn. With 24 in a box, you won't run out soon.
Who shouldn't use it?
Don't use it if you have an ear infection, a perforated eardrum, grommets, or have had ear surgery. Children should only use it with an adult's help.
How many sticks are in a box?
24 reusable sticks per box. Buy 2, Get 1 Free gives you 3 boxes, and Buy 3, Get 2 Free gives you 5.
